Closing out the year

Morning Darlin's,
I hope your holiday's were all you hoped for and more!

With a brand new year knocking at the door it's time to reflect upon ourselves & evaluate where we are & where we should go from here.

This vintage door knocker will someday adorn my front door.
For now,
it reminds me of the work still ahead,
also the possibilities yet to be on the renovation of our home...

Let's light some candles & make some New Years wishes...
Some might turn out to be intentional goals,
while some may be just for fun!

Where ever each of us is this NewYears Eve, we will choose a path that will lead us to the future.
It may be the same path
or
an unfamiliar one.

Where ever it may be for you,
I hope the journey is peaceful & quiet.
"So that you can hear your heart, & follow it"

At home on New Years morning we start with fresh made juice from our grove.
We have special toast to our youngest son who's birthday is on New Year's day.

Cheers!
Warmest wishes for a Happy & Healthy New Year 2014

My Design tip: Starting out the year by pairing down always brings a freshness to any decor. Also gives you space to display a new vintage collection of something you love.

Hop over to SECOND SHOUT OUT blog for my post today & shop for something you would like to treat yourself with for the New Year!

  1. The country lane photo reminds me of a Christmas morning frost we woke to 21 years ago when my parents still lived in Sherwood, Oregon. We bundled-up and walked into the pasture to surround ourselves in natures ice castle. All were unaware that it was to be our last Christmas with four generations, Grammy was nearly 81 and our #1 son was a year old.

Thank you for bringing back a very cozy memory. :-) Cheers!

  2. Gail, what a beautiful post! I wish too that everyone could start the year with peace in their heart and listen to what the new year has in store. I always feel a great burst of new energy in late December/January, and this year is no different. Wishing lots of great stuff for 2014 for all of us! Enjoy your holidays with your beautiful family~ with much love, Andrea
