Autumn's new favs

Welcoming October...

Yesterday afternoon I was in the mood to make something new for dinner.
Perhaps linking this to being inspired by a couple recent culinary classes.

I began with my search for
a new soup.
then I found a cookie that looked delicious,
found a second cookie recipe
which made perfect sense,
since I would have all the ingredients and mixer out!!!

A HUG & HUGE homerun!
These lemon cookies...

I took them outside so we could taste them in the Autumn air!

Couldn't walk away for a second...
I had to shoo away all the boys and the dogs while I was trying to snap this photo!

The soup I made was Asparagus potato,
Not a hit, too starchy...no remake on that one!
{ I thought with over a pound of asparagus it would be ok }
not...

I made a goat cheese quiche for the main course.
I sort of winged it off a old standard I make.
A HUGE hit with the boys.

I made two types of cookies.
First
 this lemon cookie,
A HUGE HUGE HIT with the boys!
The last two cookies were grabed when they were going out the door this morning!

The second cookie, an old version of the first original toll house cookie.
Very good, a better than ave from the usual recipe. No need to photograph!

I LOVE trying new recipes,
my family has pretty good pallets,
I know instantly what's a hit!

A beautiful day to you,
xo,
me

  2. I love lemon cookies and always make them around Christmas time. My children's favorite, even more so now that they are in their 20's. Yours are a lot prettier than mine though. You could sell them since you have a lemon grove! How fun would that be. A roadside bakery shack. Enjoy xx

  3. Oh Yum Gail !
love all the fall over here, the lemon cookies a favorite over here, we make them so close to yours, along with lemon squares, and lemon cheesecakes, anything lemon is up our culinary alley :)
And to only live with a lemon grove as our ranch like yours would be a dream.
I would squeeze lemons when we had lemon trees in our yard in northern Ca. And freeze the juice for so many cooking and baked goods.

Love your outdoor vignette with the cookies, and as for preparing a meal with goat cheese, well I have (2) Goat Cheese signs in my etsy that I just finished, very weathered in the French water stained grey's and weathered washed woods. If you read the listing you will see that I advertised the white and grey goat cheese, yes there is such a cheese as to being whites or grey's :)

Always a lovely visit when I see a new post from you.
