Morning Darlins,
A beautiful quiet morning here in SoCal....
Today on Saturday's "Designing with vintage" series,
I want to share some love for ceiling medallions.
More than function, lights set the ambiance of a room.
Looking up at a ceiling seeing a beautiful medallion enchances the fixture even more.
Historical homes sometimes incorporated the medallions as part of the entire ceiling pattern.
A special art we don't often see today.
Architectural elements like these vintage medallions are treasures,
so if you find any....
so if you find any....
don't think twice about buying it!
I have a few beauties waiting to be incorporated into my projects.
*Beautiful as art*

My Design tip: Simple lighting can stand out with a ceiling medallion. Drawing the eye to the other other architectural features, moldings or a coffered ceiling.
Hop over to Seccond shout out blog & do some Spring shopping!
Wishing you a beautiful weekend.
xo,
me
I have always loved ceiling medallions. I have one in my home, but need a few more. Your inspiration is beautiful. xo
ReplyDeleteLove older homes with high ceilings with Madalions, I am not fond of the plastic ones or prefab, yet the older hand sculpted ones take my breath away, I have one yet have not used it in this home, looking for that perfect wood chandelier to use it with.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post, love that room with the plum daybed chase. What a space to love.
And Gail I could so see that plum daybed in your home cocked at an angle somewhere where it demands attention.

Ps....I forgot to mention I too would love that chase lounge or daybed and the plum is so rich it would blend great with my French greys, whites, and blues.

Just glorious textures here! The soothing grays and whites and pop of turquoise are magnificent my dear. Enjoy your Sunday! Anita
ReplyDeleteBeautiful...and I've used them where we have to move the junction box slightly like over my sister's kitchen island.
