We had some thundering-lighting-hail & windy weather her is So.Cal the last couple of days.. Back to pretty blue skies this morning!

2* In the mail we received the most Beautiful wedding invitation.. {See the star fish}. It was delivered in a white box with silver banding! It was from our friends. The invitation was for their daughter Heidi who is getting married next month at L'Auberge Del Mar. She and her family are so excited... It is going to be a beautiful wedding.. Looking forward seeing her sachet down the isle! {I was a guest at her bridal shower a couple of weeks ago, they pulled out out all the stops for a beautiful afternoon}.

3* Yesterday a friend came by to bring flowers... She brought this beautiful bouquet she arranged! What a lovely week of delightful beauty from friends near and far! Beautiful things come in threes!!!

French Tin Man's Shed*

Hey Darlins,

Has this been a busy time for ya'll too.

To be honest I just realized that Easter was this Sunday!

I have been so busy I haven't had time to decorate or focus on the Holidays.

This whole month is just a blur...I need to catch a breath here soon!

I thought I would share a glimpse of our french Tin Man's shed that my husband built ...

It is a fab space that he stores all his tools in and he has everything all handsomely organized!

I had to have a tin copula and roof... The vintage barn door is from my retail store I was waiting for the perfect place for it. I LOVe LOVe LOVe how it turned out. I will share more pics later.

Vintage Eyelet*

Saturday morning Darlins,

Everywhere I look I see a favorite fabric of mine... EYELET!

Eyelet is Sooo timeless and ageless.

I have always had eyelet pieces in my wardrobe. I have a lot of vintage eyelet and I might have to will it!!

When I was designing my children's line I used vintage eyelet for couple collections. I had to find a lot of it to cut. Only using a little bit added that special little touch!

Eyelet is feminine without being cutsie.

I love that eyelet always current..

My design tip: Don't buy the cheapie version of eyelet that is polyester..

100% Cotton is the fabric I'm talking about!

A day for relaxing...

Evening Darlins...

I know I haven't posted this week very much, sorry have been soooo busy..

Today I held two open houses at the beach at the same time... I was back and forth with two homes side by side on the beach.. It was a bit chilly with the wind but the ocean was so beautiful!

When I came home the wind was getting fierce and you could feel the rain was coming...

Here is a picture of our dog Miss Chloe, nothing seems to bother her, wind and rain .... She is a sweet dog and she relaxes well!! I hope your relaxing by a cozy fire... that's where I'm heading with a cup of tea!

Welcome First Day of *Spring*

Welcome...First day of SPRING*

Something about the first of anything is inspiring to me... Always starting off right & enjoy the beginning. Thoughts of new, renew, begin, fresh, adventure etc. always are present.

Luck*Leprechauns*Clovers*

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all you Irish Darlins*

Reminiscing from when I was young with my friends.. we associated St. Pats with tiny magical leprechauns, trying to find four leaf clovers in the lawn and if you did you considered it *Lucky*.

Oh yes..wearing green to school so we didn't get pinched!

When I was growing up at my house we were celebrating a special birthday... It was one of my brother's. He was born on St. Pats and my parents named him Dennis Patrick.. He was always so excited for his birthday. My mom usually baked his birthday cakes and frosted them with green icing. We had decorations with clovers and lots of green! One day I put the two together as to why we always had green frosting on his cake! When I was young I used to think everyone was celebrating him!

Denny was my most favorite person in the world...He molded my heart... I adored him! Today I am remembering him and sending a Happy St. Pats Birthday wish to the Heavens***

Playing in the Dirt*

Hey Darlins,

A friend invited me come to a Seed Starting workshop on Saturday. It sounded soo cute so of course catching up with a friend and learning about gardening is perfect...

I had no idea what to expect! It was at Southwest Boulder and Stone in SD.

Our lovely teacher was Nan Sterman. She is almost a neighbor turns out! Our kids went to the same schools etc. Any hoo, she also heads up the annual Encinitas Garden Festival & Tour.{ A local event that you want to get tickets now for and attend}. Nan really knows her dirt and how to make beautiful gardens!

Nan talked about everything form buying quality seeds, how to understand the directions on the packet, soil, how to start the seeds in the right containers and why all the details are important to have success starting your plants. It was so interesting! She provided us with all the things we needed to plant some vegetables seeds. Now I have to just watch them grow and then put them in my big garden beds outside.

It was a lovely workshop and I'm so happy my friend Kathleen invited me to join her. I would really recommend Nan Sterman's workshop, you'll get an understanding about organic growing and caring for your garden.

Springing Forward*

Hope you lovelies had a beautiful day... I was soo busy... Fill you in later... I was just reminded about the time change... I love to Spring forward! Something about the change of time feels like it changes our whole routine.

I know we spend so much more time outdoors and it gives us that extra daylight to get all our outdoor chores done... Hmmm..don't think done is the word! We are never done with anything.. Always can be a little more fab or a few more details.

Squeezing Sunshine*

Good Mornin Darlins*

I hope your Wednesday will be fabulous!

My family LOVE LOVE LOVEs their fresh squeezed liquid sunshine, we call it!

Our grove which I mentioned before.. has a few orange trees, clementines and other fruits. We also have our new grove of over 120 lemon trees...

We just had our 4th pick! I get so excited to know someone will be slicing one of our lemons for their sweet tee!

Oh... by the way are in bloom, when you approach our gates the fragrance is in intoxicating... I would love to do a scented post!!!! {hmm....will get my techie mind wrapped around it and will invent it soon} Yeah Heehee!

Any whoo... FYI this is what I figured our this morning...

It takes 12 medium oranges to equal a 16 oz glass... I usually juice about 24 to 30 oranges a day for my family! We have a fabulous industrial sort of juicer we have had for-ev-er!

Spring cleaning the nest*

March the 1st... It is the beginning of Spring so it seems..

Darlins how about you... I look forward to all the seasons... Spring brings a certain freshness and it makes me want to clean and detail everything! {which is hard to do when your house in the middle of renovating.}..Never the less I have been cleaning my nest and put out a few accouterments that remind me of our family nest.

What do you do in March?

We have several engagements penciled already this season... several weddings, babies too. We are attending the first wedding tomorrow, I always love these special events and seeing what they put together and of course what the bride will be in!!

Vintage Silver find*

Morning Darlins...

Oh my...SoCal had a major winter storm last night... hail, rain and winds, I thought our master bedroom top floor was going to blow off !!!

Our local mountain area, Julian is covered in ***snow*** and the kids there get a snow day!

I looove to find monograms and initials which I talked about the other day...

I found this vintage silver little box it was open, then I closed the lid and saw that is was engraved with a *P* on the lid! I got chills..couldn't beleive it... So I thought I would share it this morning!

I wonder what it was used for?

I am taking a couple guests with me... My friends daughter Miss Heidi is a Bride to be!

Monograms*

Happy Friday Darlins... I hope your last weekend of February is Fabulous!

I Love monograms and I always have an eye out for them... Even if they aren't mine I love them!

I just think its such a beautiful display of craftsmenship and I love vintage linens, china, crystal, silver, wood anything with a monogram is so special. I use them everywhere too. At my beach house I had a pair of Belgium linen sheets that had the most beautiful MB monograms in pale blue. I used them for curtains in our master bedroom. Sometimes I was asked what does the MB stand for? HELLOO....... Master Bedroom!! Any way I loved them and when we sold the home the new buyer asked for them!

Photo} The *R* is a another beautiful vintage sheet from Belgium and I have it in our Restroom!

For me it stands for Romance and Roses!!! The rose is from my garden!

My design tip: Use beautiful vintage monograms for one of a kind statements, they don't have to be your initials, enjoy them for their beauty.

Beauty at a friends barn...

Awe...today we drove our Ranger over to a friends barn to their new little colt.

He was born on Valentines day! So tall already and his new fur so soft..... It was so beautiful to see the mother and her baby! My youngest son went in to the stall and the baby came right up to him!

Happy Friday Darlins..

Hope you had a lovely Valentines... Mine was just right... A movie "The Vow" which was cute! After the movie our youngest son joined us for dinner at CRUST. It was perfect I was only missing my oldest. Though got a beautiful text first thing in the am from him!

In October of this year I went to visit my family in Wisc. and Illinois. I try to go every year, I love seeing my family and catching up! My favorite place because I grew up there and everything is so familiar and my memories are everywhere there.

I visited my old house on Crooked Lake and took some pictures from the street of my old yard at my old house, the boat ramp and the little sign that is still there! I Loved Loved Loved my childhood it was so much fun. Everything was centered around family and friends it was truly lovely.. Lots of our family gatherings with my Grandparents at their Lake house on Sand Lake just a couple miles away.

My Heart will always be there... It's were my roots are, sooo special for me to visit. It feels like home!

A tiny little town Lake Villa in northern Il, just borders Wisconsin. Just beautiful....My family knew everyone and it was so fun! I wish my boyz had a Lake to grow up on!

What a talented women and a icon in the Music Industry.

I remember seeing the movie the body guard , having tears listening to hear sing " I WIll AlWAYS

LOVE YOU . It has been one of my favorite songs since. The Greatest Love of ALL, another favorite. When I was on the set early with a 5 or 6 am call{in my modeling days} I can't tell you how many times the music was playing her songs as specially her "Dance with Somebody" to get everyone awake at 6am... I would sit in the chair getting makeup and we would all compliment how beautiful and model like she was....

She was the voice of my era and I loved her songs as a young women the same age.

Let's keep her memory alive and listen to her beautiful voice here...

The Best corner for tea

Morning lovelies*

I get up early as most of us moms...actually I look forward to being the first one up. A few quiet minutes alone...the sun is coming through the windows and the moon is still visual behind the house. My dining room has everything stacked in it for our remodel.... I have a lot of favorite spaces in my home but at the moment their occupied!

There is one little spot though that doesn't have boxes or appliances in it. It is in a corner of my dining room with a little vintage french table and one of my many English vintage farm chairs.

Love to have fresh roses from my garden and candles. Sipping tea or nespresso in my favorite vintage Bavarian china cup there all by myself.. in the morning! I can see the back yard view, the front yard and all over the house!

I heart U

Since I was a little girl I always have referred to this as The Heart Month*

Do you remember...all the parties with conversation heart candy, pink and red heart decorations? I use to spend hours making cut work hearts for my family!

Mmmm and the baking.. I love to make heart shape cookies and cakes. I'll be skipping the baking this year without a oven. I can make cookies in my new Breville convection! It will have to do..Looking forward to next year!!!

My youngest son has been finding heart shape rocks at the beach over the years and gives them to me. He says when he see them he thinks of me... Awe he's a keeper!!!

Also the pretty vintage Heart pin was given to me from my mom. I can remember her wearing this and I loved how she had beautiful pieces she wore for holiday's.
